Storyboard Planning

I've struggling quite a long time on creating the story into graphics to make the visuals connected and tell a story.

While sketching, I realize that maybe I can try to move them to see whether it can help me in creating the storyboard or not. Then I realize actually it help me in some way to figure out the arrangement of the content have some problems like there are lots of empty spaces and I should add few lines of text into the pages to let user easy to understand the story.

Progress

I’ll start up my visual by creating the character. At first, I planned to create the visuals before further study on how the augmented reality works but I’m afraid it would be too late if I couldn’t make it on time so I learn the software while doing the visuals.
However, I’ll show some visual that I’ve done over here:

 Jessi and Sam

Mother, formal suit (left), normal suit (right)

The dark circles around the eyes are the tiredness of the character. There are two wearing style for the mother’s character because she wears like a sexy lady who goes to pubs and clubs but in the house, she wears a plan shirt and a pant. She acts like a grand lady but in real she is a poor mom who couldn't manage to raise her children.

Story

Jessi and her little brother, Sam came from a poor family. They are about age three to eight. They live with their mother who is a drug taker and drunker, this causes them to not have enough money to go to school and get hungry all the time. They’re forced to stealing food and pick people’s left out food to fill their stomach.

One day, her mom went to pub and locked the children in the house while the kids are sleeping. Jessi wakes up and found that the door is locked, she couldn't go out to find for food. So, they have to suffer hunger until their mother come back to unlock the door so that they can search for food. As she waited, her hungriness makes her frustrated but her mother hasn’t come back. Jessi and Sam are very hungry. Sam keeps crying and asks for food. Jessi is getting more frustrated as her brother crying nonstop while her stomach is crying too.

No one can imagine what a human can do when he/she is hungry and frustrated so do Jessi. She tries to calm herself and carry her brother then covered him in a box to volume down Sam’s voice. Then, she accidentally fell asleep. When she woke up, Sam is already dead lack of oxygen.

Visual

I was finding for my art style to apply in the story while I’m trying to master my skill in the software. I’ve choose a realistic illustration with some dull colours art style because the story is related with some missing case and sort of detective and hunting type. Besides, I found that the augmented reality books that I search online mostly are kid’s story books, wild lives and magazines. Therefore, I would like to try on different genre of book to apply the augmented reality story of mine. By searching on Behance, a creative artwork website, here’s the sample of art styles I would like to use:
